1 edu starting power for car ignition coil
Well

It depends on the car and the coil, there are so many kinds that you need to be more specific. The easiest way I spot is to measure the coil's resistance and use Ohm Law to determine the current, since the applied voltage in theory is 12Vdc.

I you think this helps, click on "helped me" for the statistics

You must expect minimum 4 ampers or more for normal operating. It depends on the resistance, the inductance and the time of the impuls.

a tip is to buy a digital multimeter that has a peek hold switch

then just add it is series as they are hard to predict and change as they heat up and also depends on what your drawing and when from the ht supply

this will give you a clear idea

they cost about 5-10 ? or 15 -20 euros or less for such a 3 digit meter with this switch

Hi everybody,

Genearly, It's need above 4A.

But you must consider other such as voltage, energy.

It also depend on gap of spark plug.

I made it with above 4A, above 200V(in primary of ignition coil) and above 115mJ.

Please someone can give these data for Distributorless Ignition System?

I would like to known data for distributorless ignition.

Is it same as distributor type?
