Strange issue concerning

Hello. I am new to using a signal generator remotely (E4435B) and am controlling it using MATLAB and an RS-232 port. I've had it running fine doing "simple" stuff like a pulse modulated signal. I am trying to use the advanced options of the Option UN8 configuration - the Digital Modulation. I was able to do what I wanted with the front panel, and translated that to the following commands (from E4400-90327.pdf):zhyyh

Code: RAD:CUST:MOD:TYPE BPSKzhyyh

RAD:CUST:FILT RNYQ zhyyh

RAD:CUST:ALPH 0.350 zhyyh

RAD:CUST:SRAT 15 ksps zhyyh

RAD:CUST:REP CONT zhyyh

RAD:CUST:TRIG KEY zhyyh
zhyyh
RAD:CUST:STAT 1 zhyyh

They all come back with RAD being an undefined header (error -113). I've found the SYST:CAP? entry which (along with *IDN?) gives:zhyyh

Code: Hewlett-Packard, E4435B, US39260130, B.03.86zhyyh

...and I don't see a RAD as an option there - but like I said, the front panel lets me in. Has anybody seen this before? I am at a customer site so am not familiar with what versions of firmware they may have loaded; but I would assume that if the front panel lets me do something the remote subsystem would too.zhyyh

Thanks for any suggestions anybody can come up with!zhyyh

1 naoge No ideas? I know this is not exactly the proper forum, but didn't see where else to put it. If there's a better place, please let me know! 2008/9/4 16:44
2 wy830115 Hi RevRagnarock - as this forum is for Spectrum Analyzers, I recommend the fastest route for your Signal Source question is the US Contact Center at:
