If I was wanting to use a ramp voltage as an input to a chip or micro-controller (using VHDL) to have the input voltage ramp from 0V to 5V(input high) and drop back to zero, would i need some sort of protection? Also, would I need an ADC?The input to the controller would be an integrator, which, gradually ramps up to 5V, resets, and repeats. This is to create a timed input depending on the amount of input voltage to the integrator. Thanks gzwnm
