My whole week has been spent changing bulbs and ballasts in Kmart parking lots. Most of them have been simple except for today. The pole in the picture wouldn't work, so I went down and opened the hand hole cover and find one leg welded to the pole. I put my meter leads on the pole and in the dirt and get 277VAC. No wonder a 480VAC fixture wouldn't work. The short gets fixed then boom the ballast lets go. Great, up I go to change the ballast, this time I took company and a MP3 player and we go to town.gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw Yes, I was taking pictures and listening to music while my partner in crime was working. Besides he wanted to go up. By the way did I mention how much I hate Cobra Heads, especially 1000W.gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw Now the fun part, driving home my partner says he neck is warm, well he turns arounds and there flames in the back of the cab. Something ignited the empty boxes in the bed of the truck. Whoever says a 30000# bucket truck won't stop on a dime has never seen me slam on the brakes. I drove the air pressure down to 80# stopping that truck. The fire went out without causing any damage but it did get close to setting all my battery operated tools on fire. gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw Wish I had time to take some pics of the fire but I'm sure everyone understands the urgency of getting the fire out.gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw All in all a pretty interesting day.gnxvqaiw gnxvqaiw Greg |

| 3 | anuo2008 | I'm thinking either a cap shorted to the frame of the truck, a hot ballast, or a lit cigerette butt on the interstate not really sure. But made for a good chinese fire drill. | 2008/9/1 11:11 |
