fusarium | well one use of AC is in power distribution while we use DC in final application or appliance. Well an electrical engineer can further increase your insight. | 2008/8/27 19:29

zunwang | Hi Friend, We use AC Currents in House Hold Applications such as Fan, TV Computer System. We use DC Currents in Battery supported systems such as FM Recievers, TV Remote Controls. We also use systems like Door Bell system which uses DC current by converting the AC supply given into it with the means of a Rectifier in built in itself.

htc2498 | AC system is very flexible. And we can change current/voltage of AC system by a simple transformer. in ac Inductor and capacitor defect energy transmision. so for large scale system HVDC is better choice.

hgping | Hi, AC is most commonly used in industrial equipment such as induction motors. Both AC and DC are used in electronics. The power supply for electronics is DC which is obtained by rectifying AC currents. On a wider scale, the signals used in electronics such as amplifiers are actually AC currents though of lower levels usually less than 1A.

fusarium | how is AC AND DC CURRENT GENERATED....................???? | 2008/8/27 19:29
ken7976 | AC voltages are generated by rotating a conductor in a magnetic field. The voltage generated can be obtained Faraday's Law. e=BlvsinΦ. e=generated emf B=flux density, l=length of conductor, v=velocity DC voltages are generated from specially designed batteries or photovoltaic modules. DC can also be obtained by rectifying AC voltage.

chdd | Hi Friend, AC Currents are generated by Induction or Synchronous Generators. In India 85% use only Induction Generators because it is flexible to the load variations in India. DC Current are generated by DC Shunt, DC Series, DC Compound Generators. In this there are many sub-divisions in types of Generators. Fro that kindly refer your private message. Regards, Avinash.S.
